Waterous Company, a global leader in fire suppression technology, announced today that it has changed the name of its Arizona-based compressed air foam delivery systems (CAFS) division from Pneumax, Inc. to Waterous-Arizona Operations. Located in Peoria, Arizona, Pneumax, Inc. has been a subsidiary of Waterous since its acquisition in 2001 and has continued to operate under the Pneumax name until recently.
“As our company expands globally, we want to maintain a synergistic identity between all of our divisions,” says Don Haugen, CEO and president of Waterous. “And, as CAFS factor more into the future of firefighting, we want our customers to know that Waterous is playing an integral role in advancing the technologies behind it.” Since its introduction, compressed air foam delivery systems have gained popularity in the industry due to its highly effective method of suppressing fires while preserving the fire scene for possible arson investigations. CAFS have been documented to suppress fires four times faster than water, which in turn reduces time at the scene and the risk of injury to firefighters.
